1. Can you cook?
Limited foods, I'm better at baking than actual cooking.
2. What was your dream growing up?
I wanted to be a teacher and an artist and a horse trainer and obviously none of those have happened but I think I'm happier this way.
3. What talent do you wish you had?
I know it's completely superficial but sometimes I wish I was more at ease talking to people. The one time in the past two years a guy hit on me and I clammed up so badly it was humiliating.
4. Favorite place?
It was Thornfield...sometimes it still is. Boston is another one but mostly, I'm usually pretty content wherever I am.
5. Favorite vegetable?
Raw carrots and celery, corn, mushrooms (do they count?) olives (not sure about those ones either...)
6. What was the last book you read?
Oh My Stars by the same woman who wrote Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons. I was misty eyed by the end...review on this one coming.
7. What zodiac sign are you?
Aquarius
8. Any tattoos and/or piercings?
Just two holes in each ear.
9. Worst habit?
I've been biting my nails since I was like...5.
10. Do we know each other outside of LJ?
Met once in person.

Break out my ipod because she's always with me and amuse everyone in the elevator with my crazy dancing.

Grandpa dying is top although losing Jaide is a really close second.

I clean my ears obsessivly.

Zumi and the gerbils, Taka and Naoki, in the house in Watertown and I still have Rocky and Nemo at home.

Ohhhh yeah.

Write, play DDR/Stepmania, play with Zumi.

Not as much as I did before.

There are a lot of people who really annoy me, people who don't bathe, people who don't ask their age, really stupid/skanky girls.

Towards the end of my shift, a guy called in. His name was pronounced Ian
His name was spelt Iain
I saw that, knew what it was but read it as Lain with a lowercase L
I immediately throw the mic on mute, let out a loud SQUEE and then realize a few things.
1. Lain is in Australia and would not be calling Samsung America
2. Lain is not male
3. My ipod probably wasn't on the phone either..
*le sigh* Go back to take care of the call and ignore the weird looks from other people.
Oh...one other thing. I'm trying to get Christmas cards out before Christmas for once and since I don't think I have any home addresses other than Julian's and Dan's, leave me your address and I'll mail out the holiday goodness!Current Mood:  cheerful |

It hasn't even been a week since Ash died.
Arwyn died about a half hour ago.
That's her with her second litter...the four that survived at least.
People don't get it...she was my baby. She was the fourth gerbil I had gotten and the first one that liked me. She never bit me, not until this week when she was in so much pain and she bit me to tell me how much she really was hurting.
I've been crying so fucking much, I don't even remember crying this much when Grandpa died.
I guess gerbils only shed one tear in their entire lives. Ash and Ebony cried one tear of blood when they died, Arwyn didn't even do that. I thought she was going to die on Sunday when I realized she was weighing about half as much as she used to. I don't know how she did it because she couldn't move, she could barely drink, she couldn't eat but she held on for three days. Even today when I got home from work, she couldn't even open her eyes, she could only breathe.
She waited for me...I couldn't leave her after that. I went downstairs to eat and when I came back down here again, I wrapped her up in some tissues to keep her comfortable and brought her down with me.
It was appropriate that out of all my gerbils, she was the only one that I was holding when she died.
It's things like this, losing something so small that you never realized how important it was in your life, that makes you realize the significance of every little breath.
Especially when you're watching that small something fade, knowing each breath could be the last.
When she started to go, I knew it. She couldn't move but somehow still got her tiny little claws around my pinky. I really think she knew what was going on, knew she was dying and wanted to let the girl who loved her so much know that she was going to be okay.
I know she's better now, she's not hurting anymore and she's with all of her babies and her mates...she outlived every one of them.
I just wish I could stop crying....

There's a BR role play over on LJ that I've become entranced
with. It's based on your writing ability and your ability to make
your chosen student a strong, concrete, character.
I've decided I need to jump in on the next one.
My student of choice?
Mizuho Inada (female student #1) The weird girl who survives longer
than Mitsuko and tries to taken out Kazuo by running up behind him as a
"space warrior" and take him out with a knife when he's got about 5
guns, including the machine gun.
I just think she's one of the most interesting characters from the book and was way too under developed.
Plus, I want her to have a crush on Yuichiro or something, they'd be adorable together.

It's amazing the difference wording can make.
In Women Studies today, we had a guest speaker from Slovakia. She was talking about living under communism and said something along the lines of "You don't realize how lucky you are. You can choose whether you want to be pro-choice or anti-choice, but you can still chose how you want to feel. Our government decided all of that for us."

I am officially at war with the wench next door.
She started blaring her rap shit again so instead of doing the easy thing and asking her to turn it down like I've had to do twice before, I decided to throw my speakers up against the wall and blare DDR techno stuff to give her a friendly reminder that yes...I still live here.
It didn't work. Okay, next option. I threw on the Animaniacs theme song, turned up the volume even more and checked at the end. She turned it down a little but I could still here it.
I threw on Barbie Girl and it was gone. I thought the evil doer was done.
Less than a minute later, she was back and she was retaliating...
with...Creed.
Seriously...this is war.
I call upon the power of the I.M.L.A to give me titles of really annoying songs to blare against that wall until she surrenders or quiet hours start...whicever happens first.
